food court

Apparently I now have a reader. Hi, Kava. ;)

I had lunch at the mall today and picked up applications for three shops there. One of them is a brand new place that sells tea and related paraphernalia. They are going to have tapioca bubble tea on the weekends. Yay tapioca tea! Working there seems almost as appealing as working at Barnes & Noble. Both of which get beat out by jobs which have me sitting down and paid $8/hour or more.

On a tangent from the mall-lunch, why is healthy food more expensive than junk food? Four dollars will get you a hamburger, fries and soda, but it might not cover a deli sandwich and wouldn't be enough for a drink to go with the sandwich. If vegetables are a more efficient source of food than meat, why isn't fresh produce priced comparably to pizza? If you're wondering how my lunch compares, I had Chinese: fried rice, beef with broccoli, and mixed veggies, with skim milk I brought from home in a travel mug. Not a minimal-fat meal, but not too bad, I think.
