exploding toads

"BERLIN - More than 1,000 toads have puffed up and exploded in a Hamburg pond in recent weeks, and scientists still have no explanation for what's causing the combustion, an official said Wednesday."
In other news, today is Secretary's Day -- apparently now known by a more politically correct name, Administrative Professional's Day. Nobody mentioned it last year, so I wasn't expecting anything. This year, my boss paid for Chinese take out for myself and the department (five people total, today). That was nice, but besides that, she and one of my co-workers also got me a long stem rose and a pink azalea bush. Later this afternoon, someone from Administration dropped by to bring me a small vase of cut flowers from our top executive. I still have an enormous amount of work this week, but this stuff goes a long way toward cheering me up. Also, the deadline for our report has been extended by a day and a half, de facto, because of all the things our department has had to take care of lately.
I guess this means I'll have to do something for Boss's Day.
