Quasi-weekend

Yesterday morning was all right. I did some laundry, then went skating in the park. I guess that was the highlight of my weekend. It was an absolutely beautiful fall day, mostly sunny and unseasonably warm for November -- must have been close to 65F. The fallen leaves made puddles of color around the trees: here a patch of lemon-lime chartreuse, there a puddle of toffee brown (oak), over there a splash of marmalade golden (maple), and beyond, orangey-red. The geese and ducks were enjoying a tiny pond, in the midst of a copse of trees, that isn't usually there: the result of heavy rain two days earlier. Thankfully, there was no mud on the trail itself. Days like these are the reason I love fall.

I managed to skate the whole circuit without difficulty. Even the bridge that often gives me trouble was not a problem. Considering that my legs hurt the previous times I went, and that was a couple months ago, I was surprised at myself. Also, there were enough people that the park felt busy, but not so many that I worried about colliding with anyone. All things considered, I couldn't have asked for a better skating experience.

Yesterday evening was not so great, and today was crummy. But I don't feel like writing about it right now. Suffice to say that I was supposed to go on a paintball excursion today and instead I worked. Now I will go to sleep.
