Ladybug season came late this year. Most years, the ladybugs come in from the cold in mid-autumn, but I think it was only last month that we started to see them this year. They like to crawl along windowpanes. I found one in the bathtub once. There was one on my brother's bedroom door two nights in a row. My father once discovered one in the refrigerator, and we have found them in hampers of laundry that have been sitting around for a while. They sometimes buzz around the ceiling lamps and occasionally die in the lampshade. Seeing them is fun but a little sad, because I'm sure they all die indoors before long: it's hard for a ladybug to find food or drink in a house.
