Observed on the drive home

The price of gasoline continues to drop, despite hurricane season, war in the Mid-East, a busted pipeline in Alaska and what-have-you. Maybe it's because people are starting to turn off their air conditioners? I don't understand, but I'm pleased.

The nursery (plants, not babies) has three inflatable lawn decorations on display outside, of the sort that require a constantly running fan to stay inflated. Two are Halloween decorations. The other is a giant snow globe with Santa's sleigh inside. Now that's an early start to the season.
