Can someone explain to me what "oh snap" means in this context?

This morning started badly. I decided to drive by myself to work rather than going with the carpool, so I could sleep in an extra hour: I officially start work at 9 AM, but my aunt starts at 8. However, I was a bit too leisurely getting myself together and was still some 30 blocks away from work at 9 AM, so I called the office to let them know I was running late -- and I was promptly pulled over and ticketed for using my cell phone while driving. I was peeved, but it didn't totally ruin my day like the time when I got a parking ticket for parking on the street before 8:30 AM. I think my mood was still helped a little by my slightly-tidier apartment.
Work itself was fine. The state department of health surveyors are at our facility, checking to make sure we're doing everything right, so the nursing department is a little stressed out, and my boss is very busy and spends more time meeting with people than at her desk. But very little has been required specifically of me and my department. Mostly I've been left to my own devices, which pleases me. I can concentrate on one task at a time.
I decided yesterday that I should wash a lot of dishes tonight, and accordingly I've filled my dish rack with clean dishes. There are still some dirty things left in the sink, but I'm satisfied. On the other hand, I didn't cook. My dinner was very bad: ramen and a cookie, washed down with milk. I didn't feel like stopping for groceries on my way home, because I wanted to get in from the cold and dark as soon as possible. At least today's breakfast (oatmeal) and lunch (turkey sandwich, salad, yogurt) were healthful. I want to make a pot of chili soon, and I've got a pound of lean ground beef thawing in the refrigerator, but I'll need to buy beans to go with it. And tomorrow night I have class, so I definitely won't have time to cook.
