Cloned and sent back to high school
Jul. 14th, 2007 08:37 amWell, I can't really say I've been good this week. I didn't cook, I didn't do laundry, my sink is full of dirty dishes, I stayed up late and was even a few minutes late to work on Thursday morning. So, no ear piercing for me.
It's summertime, and I work at a non-profit institution, so we have some high school student volunteers who come in to help with various things. Yesterday I think I saw some volunteers in the cafeteria: two girls, who looked so much alike they may have been twins, certainly sisters at least, talking with a boy over lunch. What caught my attention was how much the girls looked like me. Glasses, long-ish dark hair -- theirs was wavier than mine -- and the same unglamorous, slightly dorky style I associate with myself. I don't know if it was the lack of makeup or what. But the way they looked felt so familiar to me, I had to remind myself not to stare.
