Pros for keeping my hair long:
I like the look of it down when at a moderately long length, approx. at the bottom of my shoulder blades.
Long hair can be put up in braids & other interesting styles.
My boyfriend is partial to long hair on women.
Cons against keeping my hair long:
I don't like the look of it down so much when it gets significantly past my shoulder blades.
My hair tends to be frizzy when clean, so it has to be fastened in some way and not left loose.
I shed a lot. Longer hair = more total hair to remove from floors, pillowcases, the backs of jackets, the shower drain, etc. My hair gets everywhere, it's sneaky like that. I once found a strand in the refrigerator -- it must have fallen out while I was looking at the leftovers.
Washing my hair and picking the loose strands off myself comprises half of my time in the shower.
I don't like to blow my hair dry, I let it air dry, which takes a long time, sometimes well over an hour. I don't like taking a shower right before bed because it means I have to go to bed with damp hair.
I don't know how to put my hair up in fancy styles, and fancy styles are often time consuming. I usually just settle for a ponytail or half-ponytail. This gets boring.
My plan:
I need a trim. I'll have it layered but keep my current length. Then, in spring, I'll have it cut shorter, to the base of my neck.
