Feeling a tad down this afternoon, disproportionately to the seriousness of the things bugging me.

I intended to work the last one and a half problems of last night's homework set this morning, with hints from the tutor, and then reading today's chapter before class. Instead, I got a little distracted, worked the final problem of the set, and then the computer in the lab lost net connectivity. Therefore I could not submit the problem on the computer (it's all submitted via the website of an educational materials company). Nor could I save the work I'd done as a spreadsheet to the server, to re-enter on the website later, because the network was down. Nor could I print out the spreadsheet, because the lab printer was not installed on that computer, and the lab assistants could not install the printer, because the network was down.

I was, at the least, able to go to the tutor and get help with the one problem giving me trouble. I didn't manage to do the reading before lecture, so I have that left to do this weekend. I was impressed with the number of computers spread throughout the campus for students to use, but if the school loses connectivity regularly (and the lab assistant told me this happens frequently), what's the point? The money would have been better spent on stabilizing the network.

Possibly I'm bummed because my lunch consisted of a cup of coffee before class and an apple after class. Maybe I should order pizza.

Sounds like GCC. (Their sysadmin was a nutrition teacher, with no particular interest in computers.)
