Last week, several inconveniences happened one after another, so I was somewhat aggravated most of the week. Today I'm in a better mood.

Yesterday we had more snow. I was expected flurries in the morning, but the snow kept coming from the time I woke up before 8 AM until the mid-afternoon. I stayed in my apartment all day long, partly because of the snow, and partly because I'm having trouble with my key. I am a bit concerned that I will find myself locked out when I go home this evening. Anyway, I did housework: unpacking boxes, assembling stuff, moving furniture, washing dishes, and consolidating trash. At the end of the day, my apartment was more than just a place to sleep and get changed. It is becoming a pleasant space to be in. :)

Consequently, I'm in more of a holiday mood, and it's now past time to move on to Christmas shopping. So far I have a gift for only one person, and some things for a couple other people but not enough for them. Mostly I don't know what to get for people.

I think my delight in snow wore off with the first snowstorm. A shame. Maybe I need a good pair of water-resistant gloves & pants, and a yard in which to build a snowman. Also, I need to not have to drive anywhere.

My parents are arriving a week from today, bringing with them some of my things from home. I'm looking forward to getting my boombox. Right now, the main things that make noise in the apartment are the refrigerator and the heater in the living room (why does that thing buzz so annoyingly?). The silence gets wearing after a while.

Hope your folks had a good trip, and the stereo arrived intact -- are festive tunes or something else the order of the day? :)

We haven't had any snow here, though they got some two counties north of us. I'm quite relieved, given the dire warnings of blizzards earlier in the week. I headed into London at the weekend, which meant the motorbike (no parking in the city-centre for cars) and riding in snow is never much fun. <:)

Festive tunes, until I get tired of them. :) I had to get my cell phone replaced recently, and I even set the ringer to play something from the Nutcracker. If I'd simply kept the old one, I'd have stuck with my old ringtone (Minuet by Boccherini), but the factory default beep is much too boring.

I hope your feet stayed warm!
