job thoughts

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, I informed my parents of my plans to move this spring. Since then, it has been a fairly frequent topic of conversation and source of stress and tension. Stress makes me suck in my tummy and clench my jaw. I don't like stress. It makes me feel sick.
I don't care much for tedium, either, but I can handle it better. My job, which I had thought would be 50% data entry and 50% IT, has so far been about 85% data entry and 15% IT. The excitement of my day is generally when I come across an unusual diagnosis or an unusual name, such as Lemuel, Nimrod, Elfriede, or Foy (these are all real first names I've encountered). The IT aspect has been setting up computers in a doctor's office, installing software and printers, and things of that nature, which aren't too bad. I'm beginning to find that sitting in a chair for close to nine hours a day makes my butt go numb.
I suppose many jobs, including software development, involve sitting in a chair for nine hours or more at a stretch. I certainly spent plenty of time staring at a computer screen when I was working on school projects. A lot of that time, though, was spent working with a partner. Right now, if everything's fine, I don't have much reason to talk with my coworkers. I only go to them when I have a question.
I wonder if I would make an okay interior decorator, or designer of some sort. :)
