I had a nice weekend. I took the GRE Saturday afternoon. It's computerized, so my scores for the two multiple-choice segments, verbal and math, were calculated immediately. I am pleased with the results, especially considering that I barely studied. (I recommend studying, if you have time. The website has a free practice program available for download.) The writing portion has to be graded by real humans, so I have to wait for that score to arrive in the mail, but I expect it will be in line with the other two.

Sunday morning, Chris and I took a walk at a park we found the previous weekend and then went out for brunch at a diner we'd noticed a while ago but hadn't tried. The place had nice atmosphere, for a diner. The food was decent and unremarkable. The conversation was pleasant. :) All in all, it was a great morning. I'm very glad to have discovered that park. It has the benefits of the other nearby parks I'm familiar with without the drawbacks: large size, paved trails, shady trees, a pond and a brook, plenty of wildlife, flat ground, benches and even a few picnic tables. I hope to learn to rollerblade there once I get my equipment.

This morning got off to a bumpy start. First, only one fish showed up for its breakfast, which worries me. Second, I put my cell phone in my lunch box and then forgot that I had, and I spent nearly ten minutes looking for it. Third, it seems two pairs of shoes that I wear to work on a regular basis are a half size too small: they fit snugly in cool weather but are definitely too tight in summer. After finding those things out, I was running late for work. On the plus side, I still managed to eat breakfast and pack a lunch, and my boss is out of the office today, so the A/C isn't chilling me even though I left my sweater in the car.
