1. Copy and paste your friends list.
   
2. If you've friended multiple journals by the same person, delete all but the "main" one.
   
3. Bold the name of everyone you know or have met in "real life."
   
4. Italicize the name of everyone you've spoken to on the phone. (Any talk at all on the phone counted here.)
   
5. Underline the name of everyone you've chatted with online (AIM/IRC counted here). (I assume this is only real-time chat, not newsgroups or forums.)
   
6. [Bracket] people you've known, online or off, for more than five years.
   
7. Turn family members red. (My corollary: I have colored gray everyone whom I don't know, including artists of comic strips I follow and one fictional story.)

My, it has been a long time. Most of people on my friends list -- 17 of you -- I know from my alt.fan.dragons newsgroup days, around 1996-98, which puts our association at more than eight years. I met 3 of you on the associated muck, Alfandria, without having previously known you from the newsgroup. Another 3 I met via the Nexus mailing list (and I'm including the esteemed founder here, though he showed up on a.f.d first). The rest probably don't have even a vague idea who I am. :)

End of the production cycle for our newspapers today, so there isn't anything for me to do on Thursdays. The reporters are all out gathering stories, there are no pages to edit, and I have the day off. :)
