bird sighting

Just saw an anhinga at the pond in the park across the street from work. It swims with just the head and neck sticking out of the water, its body is submerged, so it looks like a miniature sea monster. Slightly creepy, reminiscent of the dinosaurs, and very cool. I've seen one before, at the park near where I live, but that one was standing and drying its wings, not swimming.

Sounds like a pretty funky sort of bird. I've been seeing red and blue: a cardinal and a jay, each in the past week.
