Life dreams

Got into a weird mood on the drive home, possibly inspired in some way by the magazine I was reading ("Glamour") while riding in the carpool. I can't think of any other explanation.

I kind of want to cut loose and do something totally unexpected. At the same time, I want to be assured that everything turns out all right.

I want to author a children's picture book and have it published and widely distributed.

I want to live in another country for over a year -- one where English is not the native language.

I want to do something concrete, measureable, to save the world. More specifically, to save the planet.

Sounds like you're looking for something that's fulfilling and has meaning in your life, right now. A lot of people deal with that on a regular basis, these days. What about volunteering time at a library, to teach young children to read by reading to them? Or perhaps spending time in a mission to help people, or at the zoo to assist the workers there?

Whatever you come to decide you need and wish to do; I offer you the best of luck in your endeavors of seeing it through.

I don't have enough spare time right now for an "extracurricular" activity. I'm about to start a class. But when my work hours aren't so long, then yes, I would like to volunteer in some way.

You could conquer Delaware and become a munificent overlord that gives out decent healthcare and a working wage. Then you can declare Fortran the native language and start on your book (write it IN Fortran!). If you're a dictator, kind OR cruel, they sort of have to print it. It's a rule.

In all seriousness, you -never- really have that assurance. Even when people offer it, it's a deceit, usually made in ignorance: they can't insist that the universe keeps their promise, and just because they think that Y will precede Z, life throws curve balls. They probably have really good chips and salsa in El Paso.
