Bird sighting and school
Oct. 5th, 2006 01:24 pmA heron flew over the highway this morning as I drove from my place to the carpool rally point. It should not have come as a surprise, considering the number of small rivers in the area, but I was surprised anyway. Have also seen a few monarch butterflies in the city -- starting their migration south, I assume.
Work's been busy. My paperwork is backlogged again.
I'm more or less happy with my statistics class. I've been to four sessions so far, and nothing we've covered has been new to me, which is good because the homework is a snap and meeting the B-or-better grade requirement is virtually assured, but bad from the perspective of learning. It's a nice review, but I don't feel like I'm in graduate school: grad school is supposed to be hard. We should be going at twice the current pace. Perhaps later classes will be challenging, once I become a degree-seeking student.
aristeros will be heading back soon. I've been lucky enough to have him around for nearly two months now, and I've gotten used to it. I'll have to readjust when he leaves.
