The change to or from Daylight Savings Time always surprises me. The sun sets after eight o'clock now. I don't remember sunset being so late even in summertime. The cherry and apple trees have dropped their petals; now it's the dogwood trees and azaleas that are in full bloom. In our front yard, the first rose of the season is open; it's a Miss All-American Beauty, on the same bush as the blossom in my userpic. Our peonies are looking good for the first time I've seen them. Of course, I haven't been home at this time of year for the past six years, but I remember the peonies as pitifully scrawny things. This year they're actually going to bloom. Also, it is apparently fuzzy caterpillar season -- the kind with brown & black & gray stripes, that crawl on the ground with dozens of siblings instead of the trees for some reason. I have fond memories of finding them on the playground in elementary school.
My exercise program has fallen by the wayside, sad to say. I followed it on and off for five or six weeks... and now it's just off. I'll try to exercise again after the big move.
