serenissima: woman's face with glasses (real life)
Tomorrow morning I'm leaving for a week to visit my boyfriend again; he's graduating from this phase of his training. If I had gone to sleep last night at a reasonable hour, I'd probably be fine, but I stayed up til 2 AM persuading myself that I was packing, when I was mostly websurfing. And then I had trouble sleeping. I woke up a few times before my alarm sounded. Insomnia is unusual for me; I guess I'm pretty keyed up about this trip. The tiredness is just beginning to set in.

Work has continued to go smoothly for the past, oh, two or three months now. It's strange because we're short one staff member, but I guess that affects my co-workers more than myself, as the administrative assistant. Maybe I'm getting more organized? Just a little? I don't think so....

I miss my yoga class at work. This week I was needed to help set up for a presentation. Last week I was ill. The previous week it wasn't held due to the room being used for another purpose. And next week I'm out of town.

The weather is changing. Instead of too hot, it is now warm verging on comfortable, and when I wake up in the morning the sun isn't entirely up yet. This summer has passed by fast.

File under "ditzy": the canister of tea I brought to work today to replace my empty canister of tea... is also empty.

AP: Man is trapped in chocolate for 2 hours
KENOSHA, Wis. - A 21-year-old man was trapped in a tank of chocolate for about two hours early Friday, police said.

Capt. Randy Berner said the worker said he got into the tank at the Debelis Corp. to unplug it and became trapped waist deep in the chocolate.

"It was pretty thick. It was virtually like quicksand," Berner said, and co-workers, police and firefighters were not able to get him out until the chocolate could be thinned out.

"It's the first time I've ever heard of anything like this," the police captain said.

The worker said his ankles were sore after the incident, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Berner said.

I wonder how much he ate while waiting to be rescued. Yum.
