aristeros had asked to take Friday and Monday off in anticipation of a potential road trip. The trip didn't happen, but he got the days off anyway. We spent a low-key weekend. Went out to dinner Thursday night at a franchised steakhouse that turned out to be better than I had expected -- I overate. Mostly hung about the house Friday; bought several kinds of treats the supermarket, on the excuse that it's a special occasion. (The sack of Halloween candy was opened yesterday.) Saturday evening we went to a Halloween party at one of his co-workers' houses. I painted my face as a jack o'lantern, and he went as a pile of laundry, with articles of clothing pinned to a sweatshirt. Hung around the house again yesterday, except for going out for lunch; I spent much of the day working on schoolwork. We can't go out tonight because I have an evening class. School is putting on "The Producers," and tickets cost near-professional prices; someone said it's a good show, so maybe we'll go watch that later this week.
