Little things that made me smile:

In the check-out line at Kmart last Saturday, I was the seventh in a line of women all with black coats.

Squirrel footprints in the snow. =)

I passed a group of three dogwalkers on the sidewalk just now, walking a total of fourteen dogs. They resembled a herd rather than a pack.

the deep south

I don't know what's wrong with the deep south. I've always wanted to live there. People who used to live there tell me it's poor, humid, backwards, etc. but I can't say I agree with them. I think I'd enjoy living there. Maybe this summer I'll be able to talk MG into a trip across Mississippi and Alabama and other southern states to see if it would make a good place to live. -- widower
