onward and upward
Jan. 9th, 2004 12:53 pmGoing from one link to another in the science headlines today, I came across an article about NASA's inflexibility and oppressive bureaucracy, especially with regard to one engineer's idea for a space station design. I hear that manned space flight by private companies is envisioned within the next few years. Maybe private funding would offer space station builders the opportunity to try creative, efficient designs.
It'll be neat if twenty or thirty years from now, we have facilities to keep not just two or three but dozens of people in space for months at a time. How about a research station on the moon, like the one in Antarctica?
