two unrelated things
Aug. 26th, 2004 01:33 pmI went to see the original "The Manchurian Candidate" last night. It's a very good movie. The showing was part of a local film festival, and there was free popcorn. :) However, I didn't get to bed until almost midnight last night, so I'm not functioning at 100% capacity today... maybe around 70%. I intend to watch the remake soon, hopefully this weekend.
Yesterday, I saw a car with a bumper sticker reading, "Don't let the car fool you, my treasure is in heaven." Despite its being mildly self-righteous, I could see placing this sticker on a jalopy, but it was on a moderately-sized SUV that looked to be no more than five years old. That struck me as rather inappropriate, i.e., "not only am I comfortably off in this life, I'm in good with God, too!"
