Last weekend was hectic but nice. I took the day off from work Friday to spend time with my parents & brother as well as relatives from overseas who had flown in for my cousin's Saturday wedding. Actually, I ended up spending a large part of that day getting ready for the wedding. The event itself was a lot of fun. I was considerably more relaxed than I was at the bride's sister's wedding two years ago, partly because I knew what to expect, partly because as I get older I get a little more comfortable with being in large groups of people and being on display.
On Sunday, the extended family gathered for lunch at my other cousin's (the sister's) house, which most of them hadn't seen before. I had to take my immediate family to the airport, but others arrived after we left. Monday morning, I asked my cousin about the gathering, and she said that at one point, she and her husband counted 38 people present. I have a lot of relatives, and they have a lot of friends. :) I spent Sunday evening recovering from all the fuss with a little Final Fantasy X.
Fall weather seems to have arrived. Last week I wondered if it might be just a cold spell, but it continues. Fall is probably my favorite season. I used to get a wonderful sense of rejuvenation with each new school year offering a fresh start for my grades. Obviously, that no longer holds true, but with the absence of the summer heat I still feel just a little bit more active.
