walking again

serenissimaI've renewed my effort to take the stairs at work and walk outside during my lunch hour. I did both Monday. Yesterday I missed my walk, but I did not take an elevator so far as I can recall. Today I walked the perimeter of the pond in the park across the street, and I decided that excused me to take the elevator up when returning. My relaxed walking pace is about 3 mph or a little less, and I complete the circuit in something like 20-25 minutes, so I guess it must be a mile around.
Despite more than a week of warm weather, the pond is still almost completely frozen over. I nearly always find geese engaging, but to see them standing and sitting on top of the ice, napping, was even more amusing.
On an unrelated note: I hope the baby step toward peace taken yesterday by the presidents of Israel and Palestine progresses to a complete journey.
